Grateful thanks for all replies and suggestions. I've squirreled all away so I can do it properly when I've more time - rollout is Monday! In the meantime, I didn't know that you could "hide" objects, so that's what I'm going to do (speedy, if not elegant) - hide all the tables so that if a user finds themselves at the database window they won't know there are any tables to fiddle with. My users are neither sophisticated not adventurous, so I think this will be pretty safe. Thanks again - sometimes I'm not sure what I'd do without this group to turn to when Help doesn't.
