Actually,

The www.mail-archive.com site has subscribed to this list in order to increase its own list.

I found the subscribe information even in their own archive.

I also noticed that there are a lot of children’s groups and information chats being archived there that some people would use in a very inappropriate manner.

If you look in our members section “archive” is the member name of www.mail-archive.com.

So if we don’t wish this to be archived then we need to block this member.

Or we can all prevent the site from allowing email links by what I believe is just adding a digital signature. (no certain but it appears that in the Anti-Fraud group this is how they did prevent the email link from working,)

This is not a  yahoo issue.  Yahoo is working just fine.  It’s the archive setting on this list.  It is set to public.

I have lists I am on that are private and the archives are private and they don’t turn up in a google search nor are they on that web site.

The real question is whether or not we want to share our knowledge with others at the risk of possible spam which we all get anyway.

I wondered were all this new spam I have been getting was coming from, I don’t use this email address for any thing but (what is supposed to be) secure comms.

I will look at the possibility of establishing a new blog group on one of my servers (as soon as I verify bandwidth) if yahoo doesn’t straighten out.

I noticed that, it also opens us up to spammers! I have  emailed Tom.

Thanks for bringing the group's attention Carl.

Duane.
