Hi Nathan,

I didn't get much of a chance to look at it (other than confirming I'm
not able to connect), but I suspect it would be possible to export the
"Access Grid Developer CA" from AG 3.1 and import it to AG 2.4.

Cheers,

Doug

Hi Doug / Chris,

We've just realised as of yesterday that the Access Grid 2.4 Developers
CA certificate has expired which means that our server is unable to
work. We were planning on moving to 3.1 anyway so this is a good time to
do it, but thought I would just mention it to you both to see if you are
still running a 2.4 venue server and if you are experiencing those
issues as well.

Regards,

Nathan

Subject: [AGNZ-Tech] Access Grid 2.4 Venue Server

Hi all,

Some of you may have noticed today that the 2.4 Venue Server is not
allowing you to log into it. After scratching my head for an hour or so
and with the help of Graeme Glen trying to figure out why it wasn't
working as well, we both realised that the Access Grid Developers CA
certificate was only valid to 31/01/2008 and had therefore expired.

This basically means that unless the Access Grid developers team decide
to release an updated 2.4 version or a new certificate, then the Venue
Server will not be able to operate. With the developers now releasing
Access Grid 3.1 I can't see that they will be looking at updating the
older 2.4 certificate.

So with this being the case and beyond our control, I would encourage
everyone in New Zealand to upgrade to 3.1 as soon as possible as this is
the only way forward. I have updated the installation package to the
latest version. It is available for download here:

Also with this event happening, we will now retire the Access Grid 2.4
Venue Server and Bridge Server effective immediately. Please email
nathan.gardi...@canterbury.ac.nz if you have any queries. Apologies
again for this but as you can see, it was completely out of our control.

Regards,
