The 2008 Access Grid Retreat will take place at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada, May 28-30.
The Access Grid Retreat is an annual event which brings together users, developers, and researchers in a show of recent activity and future planning related to internet collaboration. The Retreat Program typically includes presentations suitable for people at all levels of technical understanding, from first time users to developers to researchers in collaborative technology and streaming media. Speakers are encouraged to present in all areas related to collaboration research, including but not limited to the following: Collaborative Environments Distributed Applications Streaming Media Shared Applications Streaming Media Security Scheduling Meeting Archiving Wide-area Networking Web Collaboration Domain-specific and regional collaboration Collaborative Science Equipment Room Construction Room Control Others Speakers are requested to submit abstracts of no more than 1000 words, not including figures or references; PDF format is preferred. Speakers should define their interest in submitting an individual presentation (including title), or a panel discussion (including title and proposed speakers) . Abstracts should be written so as to be self-contained and to provide the technical substance required for the program committee to evaluate the presenter's contribution, and to provide sufficient detail for the program. Presentations including live demonstrations, for example introducing a new shared application or service, should include the hardware and network requirements necessary for the demonstration.
