Why don't you just run the system restore from the system tools menu in
accessaries in start menu. That would bring your computer back to the
settings that you had at some previous date. So you could restore your
system to a few days ago.

 Thanks

Subject: [AI] Local Identity not found

Dear Friends,

For some unknown reason, my computer displayed a message today morning that
the Local Identity could not be found. It set me up in a temperary identity
but all the changes would disappear when I shut down.

I would like some assistance on the following.

1. What could be the possible causes for this behaviour? I have already
ruled out forced shutdown, incomplete shutdown, power fluctuations and had
done a virus scan with both AVG and Norton yesterday.
2. Can the Local identity be recovered without reinstalling Windows?
3. In case the local identity cannot be recovered without reinstalling
Windows, can I create another identity and have it work as the Local
Identity without reinstalling Windows.

My operating system is Windows XP.

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.

Regards
Sameer
