I am not aware of this context's exact rules or what affect people sending SMS messages voting for the blind boy would have on his chances, but if this is a music competition as I understand it is, and if one has to listen to the program and vote for a participant depending on how the listener thinks the candidate has performed, the question of the boy being blind should not be the point of consideration. I will not vote for him unless I listen to his performance. He being a blind should never be the criteria for someone to vote for him. But as I said, I am making certain assumptions about the context and also have not followed this thread in detail. What I wanted to convey is that we should not vote for the boy because he is blind. If he is genuinely talented, that is another story.
