Hi all, This kind of technology is possible in India too. Technology is not the hurdle here. It is the will of organisations government semi government autonomous bodies basically all should be ready for this. No private entity can spend finances on designing a system and waiting for govt to pay for it. Casblip was one such project. Universities in the West have funds so they can do all this research. Indoor navigation is definitely possible and at lesser costs especially with many VI people having smartphone but who will bear the cost of installing the beeper/ transmitter. Let's say I want to make an Airport or a building, let's say a college capable of providing indoor navigation do u think the college or the airport will go ahead and bear the cost of installing the sensors.
All I want to say that we are not deprived of this navigation because technology does not exist but because there is no intention of supporting the implementation by the concerned authorities. Other features shown in the video are already available on smartphones these days for recognizing food item and other things. Regards Ian.
