Dear all
I started taking special interest about Meghalaya after personally
encountering the pathetic situation of many disabled people there.
Last July I personally approached Mr. John Leslee K Sangma, the MLA
who put the motion in the assembly for discussion requesting him to
use his authority and privilege to do justice to the disabled people
of his state. I also provided him with most of the relevant documents
which I collected through a series of RTI applications.
however the truth is that most of the politicians and higher officials
are either not approachable or indifferent to the disabled people. The
reason may be that we don't form a vote bank or we don't have any
social status so that we deserved to be listened. But I was lucky as
my wife's family have a good relation with the concerned legislator.
So we need to be highly informed and articulate. Lets use our full potential.

Warm regards
