Hi, 6 by 6 team, thanks for your efforts in bringing some kind of
solution to the problem of currency recognition through an android
app.
As this is still in the starting level or at the developmental stage,
there might be some problems while recognizing notes and other
problems.
I'm glad to try out your app and provide you with constructive
feedback so it might be helpful in making still more improvements.
I don't have any mind of commenting about your app severely, because,
I'm glad you are trying to do something useful to visually impaired
community I'm glad about that.
I can agree with the opinion that, when we are outside it poses a
problem in instantly recognizing the notes quickly while paying at an
establishment, maul, taxy drivers etc.
So my suggestion is, if possible, kindly reduce the time the app takes
to recognize a note, if possible, it should be very short.
If the time of recognition is reduced, it will surely reach it's purpose.
Further, Some say, the currency have to be made accessible for
visually impaired, Yes I Agree with the statement, "they should be
made accessible."
However, there are many flaws in the idea, or, the approach to it has
to be considered in a different manner.
For example, if they make some notes with some markings which can be
felt by us and find out what denomination it is, many of the times, as
the currency flows through many hands and through ATM's, those
markings on the note get very soft or undetectible as time passes.
Further, When we say, currency should be made accessible, they cannot
withdraw all existing notes of every denomination and reprint them
with accessible marking or any kind of accessibility.
For that, alternatively We can notify the proper powers to bring some
kind of app or a gadget which might assist us in the day to day
problem of identifying currency notes.
Okay, some people may not be having android phones, or still might be
using older phones.
One solution for all this is, bringing a portable, light wait,
handheld, miniature, battery powered, chargeable, device, about the
size of the regular debit or credit card, which should recognize the
note when placed on it, or something near to that.
which should be accurate and should be able to recognize currency
notes of every denomination within the time of one or two seconds and
give audible feedback to the user in the kind of speach what value of
note it has detected.
And, later, if any changes are made to any notes, or if any new notes
are released, the device's software should be able to update over our
phone's bluetooth or by connecting it to our computer like that, so it
will be having updated software about the newly released notes also.
If this idea is incorporated and some proper people and powers take
interest in the matter, this might become a very useful and final
solution for all the problems we are having in day to day transaction
of our indian currency notes.
Hope this is not negative in any manner.
Thank you.
