Hi all, I have been following this topic for a while. I would like to clarify that this problem in vista is not due to virus, but because of the in-built bucks within vista and installation of some programs seem to cause this problem. Although not sure of the exact program causing this issue. I also found a solution to the issue of not being able to select multiple files by pressing control+A. For some reasons the Microsoft visual studio gets disabled under service manager and temporarily one can enable it and perform the command. But it doesn't become permanent for some reasons. As for as the hidden file are concern, I looked at Microsoft knowledge base and followed their steps, but without much luck.
