Dear list members, I have been diagnosed with RP and currently I have near about 40% of sight remaining. I am married to a a girl who has no kind of disability. On the recommendation of one of my friends, before 2 years I also got myself tested for genetic disorder in Dr. LV Prasad eye institute Hyderabad. At that time they only told me which genes are affected in your body, but they were unsure about any disorder in my children after my marriage. Now my wife is expecting a child and she is in first trimester of pregnancy. Now i wanted to make it sure whether the child is affected with any RP related disorder? How to proceed with it? Should I again visit Dr. LV Prasad Hyderabad and get my wife tested to find out any genetic disorder in the expected child? Or should i get simply discuss this issue with out gynecologist? Any help is appretiated.
