Hi guys,
Those who know us (which most people here do), would not deny the fact that we are very open to feedback and anything that improves the work we do, or its output. Because inaccessibility is not a problem faced by few individuals, it impacts the community at large, so any improvement which leads to positive is most welcomed. 


I am also conscious of the fact that many within the community are 
equally frustrated with inaccessibility and years of effort that each 
one of us in the community (within and outside of Mission Accessibility) 
has put in to make things accessible and the progress has been slow.



We are equally facing the same constraints which others have faced in 
the community but we are mobilizing everyone's support and working as a 
collective rather than as individuals which certainly will lead to 
larger impact and better outcomes.



Rahul has already well articulated the problems that exist in 
implementation of accessibility from all perspectives, and while our 
progress may appear to be slow for some individuals possibly because of 
the frustration they have gone through over the years, and consequently 
when anyone tries to shift a culture from inaccessibility to 
accessibility, automatically our expectations are bound to increase. If 
I was you watching this organization from outside, I may have equally 
felt the same though I could have channelised my energies in a way to 
support the effort of this kind to get positive results.



Unless we all keep doing this together, neither are we going to learn 
how to work with the system nor are we going to realise the constraints 
which others are facing.



Let us continue to work together and make this world a more accessible 
place for everyone!

open the possibility of people sharing their views with us in four 
main

ways.




First, by writing an email to us on Mission Accessibility at 
gmail.com.

Second, by messaging any of us privately on WhatsApp. We are very

transparent about sharing our phone numbers.  Even if it may 
sometimes
causes some inconvenience. Third, we will keep the group open for 
certain

designated time slots on weekends. We are figuring out the time
currently.

And forth, through threads like this one, we constantly get your 
feedback

and try to improve our processes.




However, please do understand that change of this kind does not 
happen
overnight.  And simply blaming us for the slow pace of progress may 
not
always be right. Several variables are beyond our control. The kind 
of

work

that we are trying to do is at the cutting edge of accessibility in 
India
and globally. Service providers have several limitations that they 
point

to. Government officials have hundred other things to address and
therefore
one has to constantly follow up with them to achieve the slightest
progress. And our court system is flooded with litigation, making it

difficult to get a proper hearing.  None of these are meant to be 
stated

as

excuses, but you must understand a broader context before accusing us 
of

not doing enough.

The group should be left open for comments of the members under the
moderation of admins. Simply reserving this whatsapp group as a
dropbox for just forwarding the updates and your own ideas will be

just killing the purpose of such group. Furthermore In stead of 
taking

small apps in loop, you should take the mission to make the banking
websites accessible and also a genuin attempt should be made to get
the visual captcha removed from most of the websites which has become
cumbursom challange specially in field of financial indipendence.
