Hi Vijay, Cheque book is really a contentious issue. To my knowledge VI people issued chequebook, could use only for bill/installment payments like electricity, housing, etc. with prior verification seal from concerned banks. You must find out VI cheque users if they could use it for other than that? If former be the case, is it really useful to avail this facility for VI? Instead, going for online fund transfer, billpayments with your user ID PASSWORD IS more easier & foolproof.
Bankers have very befitting reason against providing the facility because even the slightest mismatch evokes financial charges, & 'thumb impression' can never be verified by the bank simultaneously while making payment to establish the veracity of actual customer. However, if it's that essential, one can go for jt. ac with a sighted relative where chequebook is hundred % permissible. I am not a banker, hence it may not be an expert opinion but that is what I have experienced. This Message was sent from Indian Oil Messaging Gateway.
