Hi all,
Let me share some of the experiences that I had about the second
convention of Access India list.
The convention, no doubt, was a great success as far as the participation
of its members was concerned. However, there are certain things which I'm
concerned about, such as, complete segregation amongst its own members,
dearth of volunteers, the lousy preparation in terms of broadcasting
this
convention over the Skype and its recording and so on.
I'm also not really happy with the kind of attitude meted out to the
speakers, for example, some of the speakers (wouldn't like to name them)
were warranted extraordinary felicitations and therefore were awarded a
lot of time to speak, while on the other hand, some of them were not
allotted enough time to expand what they wanted to spell out, for example
I myself was given 9 minutes and 59 seconds where I couldn't have put
forward some of the very crucial areas. I think the time management was
completely improper and the organisers didn't do enough homework towards
that area. Nevertheless, I'm not complaining against anybody, but this is
what I felt from deep inside my heart.
However, not withstanding the above facts, the local people of the city
were very generous, hospitable and receptive. The food was very
fascinating and delicious.
I think overall this convention was a great achievement. Without making
this event a controversial one, I sincerely express my gratitude to all
who endeavoured to make this convention a success and hope the above
stated things would be taken care of whenever the next such foregathering
takes place.
