Depends on your usage. If you only wants for mail checking etc, then no need of going for any other connection because as you have airtel mobile. They have got various plans with them, and they even offer unlimmitted gprs in INR25 but on limited numbers. So please check with customercare if it is available on your number or not. But if you want high speed connection, then you can go for tata or reliance photon pro or net connect respectively, but as subramani sir said, they have got monthly subscription plans.
I don't know weather MTNL offers the things like EVDO cards.

Adina and i will be in India from Jan 16th 2010 till Feb 4th 2010.
we will be in Bombay for most of this time.
we are looking for internet access, through notebook during this time.

we have MTNL landline at home, and Airtel mobile provider for mobile.
any suggestions about internet provider for three weeks?

till our next visit,(may be about in one year time) it will not be used.
