Signature or thumb impression has nothing to do with clearing.
In the clearing house, only cheques are sorted bank/branch wise and
sent to the respective banks using the magnetic ink character
recognission M I C R codes in the cheque.
It is only at the branch of the drawer,that is the person who has
drawn the cheque, that the signature and other details are verified
and the cheque is passed or suitably returned to the clearing house in
case of difference in signature, insufficient funds, etc.
So if the specimen signature/LTI is available at the branch, it should
be enough.
