Hi friends, I think with the biometric system not yet in vogue, thumb impression can't be verified by the banker.
I am not a legal expert, but I felt the master circular kept silent with reference to operating accounts with LTI. It would have been better if it explicitly stated that visually challenged people can avail all banking facilities using LTI/signature at their choice. Even if visually challenged people learn to sign, I very much doubt whether all the signatures would be alike to enable bankers to honor third party cheques. -- G.
