I faced such problems in reading daisy books. Once I changed the talks
language to British English, the problem was gone. Give it a try.

I had problem in my C5 while reading messages especially some special
characters or words. Even when I tried to read them after restarting
the phone, the talks stopped working after a particular point. I had
to seek help from others for understanding the msg. I replaced
elequence with the above said version and now I have come out of this
problem. Thank you so much.
