Hello To All,
However, nowadays, this type of shameful incidents are very commonin our
whole society, although very little of these incidents are being
popularised.
None of any type of women are actually safe especially in present criminal
atmosphere. If any wife or husband will not be alert, these type of
incidents will always be repeated in maximum families, whether they belong
to normal categary or disabled categary.
In one hand, I know some those cruel men, who are indulged with their
daughters too and their daughters are living with their happy lives by
getting outside silence support because if they or supporters will
popularise their incedents, their lives will be in great danger.
In another hand, several husbands are found that they are also theirselves
indulged for compelling their wives in prostitution proffession.
After geting these above said bitter experiences in my life, I found on this
final conclusions:
firstly, all wemen should compulsarily have some special training to get
self defence like judo etc.
Secondly, Each husband should bring her especially newly married wife with
him in journey and if it may not possible by any way, wife should leave in a
complete family.
Thirdly, Each husband should reach in his house in time and he should be
more carefull for his wife and children.
Fourthly, Women should have some communication with their friends and even
though women's organisation for their safety purpose, but, they should also
avoid them its misuse too, as several women are misusing their approach.
Fifthly, Husband and wife should have full believe and commitment for each
other.
Sixthly, wife should timely express about any objectionable or doubtly
feeling from anyone with her husband and the husband should immediately look
this matter with open mind in silence way and should take necessary short
time and long time precautions according to nature of such doubtful or
objectionable incident.
As per concerned to our educated society, here, I want to share my 2
experiences during my B.ED. time in year of 1989-1990 with this group in
where marks of practical and theory are in lecturers' hands. The numbers of
girls were 210 out of total 240 students and male lecturers are very much in
comparison of female. I found 2 complete contradictory competitions in my
girls classmates.
In one hand, some of them had great competition for loosing their characters
for obtaining maximum marks. According to some of them, if they can obtain
maximum marks after giving some saxual satisfactions to their sirs, there is
nothing wrong because each lady will has to do this work in future, whether
to her husband too.
In another hand, several of them fighting for saving their character, in
which some had passed successfully, but with less numbers and unfortunately,
some of them could not save her from strong emotional attacks or
threatenings from powerful villain male lecturers.
One my girl classmate, ask me for her help for saving her character from a
male lecturer, who taught 2 subjects both of us, one compulsary and one
optional. I chose that optional subject on advise of same girl classmate. At
first, I expressed some strong words to her because on her advise, I had
taken optional subject and the same male lecturer was also warden of my
hostel. But, after her several requests, I was ready to save to her.
According to her, the lecturer regularly steered to her with sharply during
his lecturer and she had great problem to face him, even though he asked to
her to meet with him aloane in his personal room for discussing some matters
and also for having some important notes
As per my advise, she usually ask some questions from him, whenever, he
steered to her and she also wen in his personal room with accompany of a
small group of girls.
Now, he targetted me directly and indirectly by tonting some words and
warning me with some false allegations in our classes and hostel too for
them I was mentally prepared in advance and I had already told to her in
advance about these type of actions because she usually lived with me in
maximum time during our classes, as incidently, we both took same maximum
subjects.
As a result, Finally, she succeeded to save her, but I got very minimum
marks particularly in both subjects for saving her. She also felt great
regret for the same, but she thanked to me for helping her. But, I did not
had any regret for for it because I was fully satisfied from myself for
saving her noble character in a peaceful manner, where, it was very
difficult.
Now, for your kind information, lucklyly I got teaching job in govt school
of Delhi within 3 months after obtaining mark sheet in July 1990.
Now, Rest will be shared in next mail, if members will be interested to know
more on this issue.
Regards,
Rakesh.

Subject: Re: [AI]Blind man held for raping blind friend’s blind wife
I am ashamed to say that men should never be trusted when it comes to
women. Whether they are educated or married, disabled or otherwise. Do
a search and you will see whether educated or uneducated, rich or
poor, blind or sighted, provided or deprived, all fail to tame their
animal greed. Women with disabilities are at a higher risk. The bitter
fact is that no one (blood relations excluded) is their brother,
father, son etc. Poor breed does not even know what evil goes on the
other side. Red pepper, a handy sharp mettle tool, some physical
training, a phone etc. are obligatory for every women. The best is to
be always vigilant and never trust a man. Regards, Shadab

Hi all,
I fully agree with Mr. Subramani. He has said, the right thing,
because these are the reasons for these kind of issues and should be
brought into notice more! Education and awareness can only bring good
results in stopping these crimes.
Thanks & regards

Folks:
Let’s remember that the issue of disability and abuse of women go far
beyond the scope of this list. We can’t afford to be oblivious to
cases of sexual abuse in which one of our own is involved. While this
is a bad news, we should be glad that rape and sexual abuse news are
proportionately less in number compared to the good news picked up by
newspapers about the blind and the community at large. I think
incidents like this take place because of two very important reasons:
1. Lack of education: I think sexual awareness or feelings towards the
opposite sex are pretty much hushed up subjects not only in this group
but in the wider society as well. While the able-bodied population
finds outlet in different ways, this gets pretty much bottled up in a
visually challenged man and, not so surprisingly, it explodes in an
unpleasant way. Compounding the problem is the fact that visually
challenged women have constantly been portrayed as defenceless and
vulnerable and can be messed up with, even by a fellow blind man
without much ingenuity. So education has to happen to both VI men and
women about the way and nature of intimate relationships and how they
should behave/react in such situations.
2. Lack of opportunity: Welll friends, I am reminded of this saying
“morality is lack of opportunity”. We know what to do with our minds,
but most of us, honestly speaking, do not know what to do with our
feelings. Let’s first accept that such feelings do exist in some
unknown corner of our minds and it is unfortunate that circumstances
some how turn out in such a way that we find gratification in ways
that are not right under the law. Once we have the education, I think
our VI friends must be taught how to handle those feelings without
harming or causing discomfort to others. What is needed is a means of
sex and adult education (for both VI men and women), self defence
psychological techniques for VI women and a channel for our community
to express themselves responsibily, legally and morally.

Subramani

On repeated questioning, the victim broke down and revealed that
Ashok, on the pretext of repairing a mobile phone, took her to his
friend's flat in Manpada and repeatedly raped her. In the police
complaint, the victim's husband, said, "Before leaving for Pune for
personal work, I decided to leave my wife at my friend Ashok's Kalyan
residence. While leaving her, I bought her a mobile phone and got a
prepaid SIM card. However, she was unable to operate it. When she
asked Ashok to help her in activating it, he claimed that the phone
had to be repaired and took her to Dombivli, where he raped her."
