I agree that the PrintScreen function is good for capturing the current screen with or without the background windows. It still has a limitation when one needs to capture a webpage that is more than one screen in length, i.e., one needs to scroll to view the complete page. Secondly, it also captures title bar, menu bar, toolbars and such elements of the current window which may not be required. Also, it doesn't fulfill the need to capture some region of a window and not the entire window. I believe the PrintScreen function has the basic functionality, if one needs more, additional software can help.
