Hello Members,
Excuse the lame subject line. Using the keyboard shortcuts not only ads to
your productivity but saves you the time. Launching applications from the
run dialog box is the fastest way to get to that program you use on a
daily
basis or regularly.
Like for example you can press the key combination windows key+R to launch
the run dialog box and type in calc to open the calculator application.
You
can also launch a website in the run dialog box by simply typing the URL
e.g. www.google.com. So why am I telling this which you already know? Try
launching MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel from the run dialog box. I am sure
you
can't right? Well this knowledge sharing email will help you do just that!
To accomplish this you need to know in which drive your windows operating
system has been installed. Commonly it is the c drive. Go to my computer
from your desktop, then to c drive and in the folder windows. Here open
the
folder named system32. NOTE: In these folders all your operating system
files are saved be cautious not to rename or delete any file from these
locations.
Now that you have this folder opened, hit the start, programs and get to
Microsoft Office submenu and select a particular application. For this
example we will use word. Once your cursor is focused on Microsoft Office
Word 2007 or 2003, hit the application key and move to the send to
submenu,
in those options hit enter on send to desktop create shortcut. This action
would have created a shortcut on your desktop for the application
Microsoft
word. Now go to your desktop and locate the shortcut. Rename it using the
F2
function key to something simple as msword. Selecting that shortcut now,
cut
it and paste it in the system32 folder you had opened earlier. Now the
testing, hit windows key and r to launch the run dialog box and type
msword
and hit enter. If you have done everything right it should open a new word
document for you.
Repeat the steps to create the destop shortcuts for all the applications
you
wish to launch using the run dialog box and paste them in the system32
folder. Then onwards to launch any application you will not have to go to
start, programs and the application name, all you have to do is use the
run
dialog box to launch the application.
Time to Run!
