Following the appalling news coming out of India concerning police attack on a demonstration of persons with disabilities in the capital Delhi, DPI Arab region: 1- Expresses its strongest support to the disability movement in India in their endeavor to secure a better disability bill in the country based on the CRPD and the human rights principles. 2- Completely repel any use of force against protestors representing the disability movement in India and condemn any authority that uses such a method to deal with the matter. 3- Regret that these events are taking place in the supposedly headquarter of DPI chairperson, and call on DPI Asia Pacific Region to intervene in the matter in support of Indian persons with disabilities. 4- Call on DPI World Council to issue a strong condemnation statement to the events and to show its support to the Indian disability movement. 4-Call on IDA and other international organizations of PWDs to condemn the violent actions of the police and issue a supportive statement to the Indian disability movement.
