The real difficulty will come when you will have to do phonetic symbols, suprasegmental features, Wh movement, NP movement, TG syntacx, minimalist program etc. For that, you will have to take help from teachers and other friends. You should also look for some alternative representations: like, in x-bar syntax, you can use brackets instead of diagram showing binding nodes etc. It's my past and I don't know how much help I would be able to extend you.
