Hi, As you are aware that Jaws requires authorization to run beyond 40 minutes and to use features like Tandom, there are various ways one can get it authorized. Out of which one is your Dongle. Its a USB hardware, which can be plugged on to any system which has Jaws installed, should you wish to run your authorized copy.
Since the lisence remains in the USB Dongle, once the dongle is removed from the system, the authorization is no longer available to Jaws of that system hence it reverts to demo mode. Dongles are specially useful when you travel a lot or have various systems to deal with. Its cost efficient from users prospective. There is absolutely no difference whatsoever between the authorized Jaws used through authorization key or a dongle. So that misnomer of regular Jaws and Dongle Jaws is also not correct. In the regular Jaws (in a laymen language), its nothing but a key authorized through Internet or some other external media, which resides in your Jaws. Once you remove (uninstall) it, you need to activate it again. Unlike the dongle version, there are limmitations in the Key based activation as to for how many times you can activate it. Trust that clears your doubt. Thanks, -- Amar Jain.
