So here is members are of one opinion that is, technology holds the key.

I also think technology certainly unlocks many restrictions, but I'm
equally concerned about dearth of technology literacy among blind
people in particular who prefer to speak and write in Hindi and in
other regional languages. Further, to run technological tools one
needs electricity round the clock, and according to one figure given
by BBC Hindi last week, 40 Crores Indians have never seen electricity
in their homes. Situation is very complex, you know.
NGOs who impart computer training are only catering to urban-based
tranees and they are least concerned about huge aspiring talented boys
and girls reside in the countryside who if given proper training can
develop softwares which can turn the table for India in the
screen-reading softwares market.

Now who will take the innitiative? I have a suggestion for NGOs
working in the field of providing better technology to blind people in
India. many big corporates and other companies are mandated to spend 2
per cent of their net worth on Corporate Social Responsibility. Why
not these NGOs prepare a proposal with an objective to reach to those
who are not in Metros? many research indicate CSR is going to be spent
on education for empowering less-privileged sections hugely... So dig
in your heel and cash in this opportunity which UPA has given us in
its legacy...
