hi! as i am hardly aware about your present knowledge in economics, i am writing this as per my own perspective.
if your intrest in economics is specifically for knowledge-gaining , you should first get some terms in detail... like demand, supply, foreign exchange and foreign exchange reserves, GDP, GNP, marginal utility index, scarcity, market, bla bla. then you can look for some works by keynes, marshal, robbins, and others. if you want to get a different look towards economics, and if you have a lot of pacience, read this book.. it's called freakonomics. but, beware!it will take you to some different tracks of economics. if you are planning to get it from scratch, get some books of 11/ 12th commerce CBSE.
