Jared Winick commented on ACCUMULO-86:
--------------------------------------

A 2.5.1 might be to make sure the example READMEs are explicit enough. While
minor, when trying to run the MapReduce WordCount example today, I ran into an
issue where my user and password were not the default of "root" and "secret".
You see a ThriftSecurityException indicating your credentials are bad, but the
README.mapred doesn't indicate the usage of how to set the user and password.
Clearly it isn't hard to assume that you should use "-u" and "-p" or just look
at WordCount.java, but fully documenting the usage of the examples might be
helpful to some new users.

> The 1.3 branch of Accumulo is just about ready for release. This ticket
> should take us through the release process. On the list of things left to do
> are:
> 1. Add licenses to the few remaining files that still require them.
> 2. Document the release, including the tests that have been run and the build
> process
> 3. Tag the code
> 4. Do the build
> 5. Sign the build
> 6. Take a vote
