System: PackardBell V7908, Centrino Duo, Feisty Fawn; symptom: never powered off.
Some time ago I went through a buggy installation of FUSE, that messed up with my sudoers file, preventing many modules to load at startup: Alsa Audio (hda-intel), Intel Wifi (ipw3945) and so. I noticed that my laptop actually shut down properly more often (2 out of 3). When I fixed my files, everything went back to the way it always been: never powered off. png ps.: "never" means Drake, Eft and Fawn.
