Uooo! This is odd! Yesterday, despite all the problems with shutdown I wanted to give the hibernate function a try. After saving all the stuff to the hd, showing some warnings from the USB I waited the hdd led to stop blinking and I powered off the laptop with the poweroff button (as I always did). Resuming from hibernate worked great, after a while I was presented with the password prompt, with no problems.
Inspired from some penguing god, I tried the brightness keys (fn+f6 / f7) that, I must stress this, NEVER WORKED, neither from the keys, the applet or the command line... surprise! I can set the brightness of my LCD! (but the gnome-applet doesn't work yet...) After some investigations I found that this achievement could be because acpi doesn't load a driver for the LCD, infact I've no /proc/acpi/video folder. This led me to the next step: the shutdown.. and it worked. -- .png -- Power down after shutdown does not work... https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/43961 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of a duplicate bug. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
