To complete my previous answer ...
For Linux 32bits, kernel 2.6.18.1:
- /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/xxx/fan is empty
- /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/xxx/temperature is updated
- Fan is controled active/inactive depending temperature
If needed I can try with latest kernel compiled in 32bits.
