--- Comment #6 from David Del Sol ([email protected]) --- Update: HP has provided its written position on warranty case #5163282638 (email from Chat Support Supervisor Kamlesh H., 2026-08-10). Quoting: "because this hardware was specifically manufactured and optimized for the Windows operating system, HP does not officially recommend, support, or provide drivers for alternative operating systems." HP declines to provide any BIOS/EC update for this issue and closes the case. Vendor path exhausted: a kernel-side fix is the only remaining path, and the DMI-scoped OSI quirk attached here (attachment 310619) is the proposed implementation.
