Interestingly though, these changes weren't required to run with 4D 2003 but were with 4D 2004. This is what threw me. Maybe I was just lucky it ever worked with 2003!
Moral - always read the release notes carefully.

You should definitely start using 3.01 if you aren't already. Be sure to read the release notes carefully!
