All working now. Although I was using the correct shell (�7) etc. I hadn't made the changes to the Startup methods as detailed in the read me.
Interestingly though, these changes weren't required to run with 4D 2003 but were with 4D 2004. This is what threw me. Maybe I was just lucky it ever worked with 2003!
With every new version of 4D the behavior of the plugin API changes slightly and these kinds of things happen. It threw me too.
Moral - always read the release notes carefully.
