What happens if you use replace string?
$source:="\"Mehboob Alam\" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>"
$source:=replace string ($source;"<";"<")
$source:=replace string ($source;">";">")
write ($source)

what should I be doing so that the original string value is
not being interpreted? I tried mac to html, but that didnt
