Hi Aparajita,
be assured you have my full support for this move!
I already told my clients that the upgrade cost will be substantial
and they did not so much as flinch, to them what you call high upgrade
costs are mere peanuts.
I am pret ysure you will get some flak on the nug for this move, but
99.5% of those complaining are people who would not ever have
considered buying a4d in the furst place, but sme people cannot let an
oportunity for complains pass by.
All the best from us and I for my part will go on promoting a4d
wherever I can.
Oh, I also have 2 potential sales of my application WITH the web
interface for late july. They did not yet sign but we have an LOI.
I know what that is worth when push comes to shove, but as you know I
am an undeterrable optimistic!
Cheers
Alex
Would you
mind giving the list an update on how the work is going?
Since you ask...
I am killing myself to get this thing done -- 7 days a week, 6-10
hours a day. It's bankrupting me. I have spent 6 months working on
it with no significant income. As a result I had to borrow a ton of
money just to keep me going. If it weren't for the kindness of one
client who has partially funded development, I would have burned
through the loan as well.
When will it be done? I wish I knew. The end is in sight, but I have
no idea how long it will take to get there, and after so many
inaccurate predictions about the release date, I will not make any
more.
The pricing and support changes I made last year will be reverted --
it was an experiment that failed. I will go back to a $700 first
year cost, $130 per-license renewals, and support via the mailing
list. I haven't decided on the upgrade cost yet, but it will be
significantly more than the $130 renewal cost.
Regards,
Aparajita
