This will not work in all cases. Any character in ISO-8859-1 that is not in Mac Roman is converted to "*", so potentially there are other characters that will end up looking like this. > $strasse:=Replace string($strasse;"Ä";"Ä") All of the rest of these should convert correctly using the code you were using.
