It explains how to clean up orphaned servers in your AD by using the metadata cleanup. One thing that I have seen is that after you run metadata cleanup, manually remove the server from sites and services then force replication to all domain controllers. Then run dcdiag and replmon to ensure there are no errors. Kevin Kevin E.
