If the zone had minimal changes, that would definitely be an option. But this zone can be edited a number of times a day as more servers are added to our network. But a way is needed to have one update done for both servers or have the DC poll the Linux server and get the information that it does not have.

Why not open the port between DC and the outside server long enough to pull a single secondary transfer, then close it and change the zone in AD to AD integrated?
