Ok here is the next wrench. I got them to have the machine joined to the domain. The issue I have now is this.
Using the kiosk scenario in the group policies common scenarios from MS. The user logs onto the kiosk machine which launches the remote desktop application as the shell. They connect to the Terminal Server. I need that same account to be able to get to the apps on the Terminal Server. So here is the question I guess. Can I have the user configuration part of a policy only apply when the user logs into machines that are in a group called kiosk. You could also join it to your domain, let the policies apply, and then unjoin it. That won't help with per-user settings, though. --Brian -----Original Message----- From: Cothern Jeff D. They want the machine to be in a workgroup. Therefore I cant deploy the policies via AD. Is there a quick way to put the policies into a file and sneaker it over to the workstation? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, September 17, 2004 2:56 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [ActiveDir]Win XP SP2 kiosk Check out the Microsoft GroupPolicy Scenario's at: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windowsserver2003/technolog ies/management/csws2003.mspx Volker > How can I use AD tools to make a xp SP2 machine a kiosk system basically > that can only run remote Desktop. > > > > The optimum would have when the system boots up to automatically come up > and launch Remote Desktop. > > > > Any Ideas > > > > List info : http://www.activedir.org/mail_list.htm List FAQ : http://www.activedir.org/list_faq.htm List archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/activedir%40mail.activedir.org/ List info : http://www.activedir.org/mail_list.htm List FAQ : http://www.activedir.org/list_faq.htm List archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/activedir%40mail.activedir.org/ ..jjryãv
