Not if it's a user assigned one. I'm changing them to a password I know
and it also means that any of his / her friends won't be tempted to use
that account for things.

Why are you changing the password for the account and then later
deleting it? Isn't that redundant?

Subject: [ActiveDir] Users leaving

Hey all!

Over the next few weeks we've got quite a few users leaving but as we're
only a small office we don't have a set procedure for what happens to
their account, PCs and mail etc etc ....... I think I've just
volunteered myself to right one! Has anyone got any good suggestions /
links that could help me out a bit?

So far I'm going with:
1) remove user from all groups other than domain users and change
password
2) take an image of their pc then reissue the standard one back on
3) exmerge a copy of their mailbox to CD, move all job related
emails
to relevant public folders
3) copy docs to CD and alert their superior of what's been left
4) delete user account, redirect their email to a different user

Have I missed anything?

Cheers, folks. :)
