that is done through the GUI (MMCs) or through a script kicking several operationa attributes. Both are manually, unless you scheduled a script to do it ;-) Another way is if you demote the DC that hosted the FSMO roles whereas you did not transfer before the demotion. If you demote a DC that holds FSMO roles it will kick the operation attribute "GiveAwayFSMOroles" (or something like that, don't remember the exact name) and transfer the FSMO roles to another DC Chers Jorge
