Are you familiar with the Cygwin shell that others have recommended?
I've only been using it for about a half hour, but it has tab completion
and command line history. I'm not enough of a "shell geek" to know if
it's accurately emulating bash, as opposed to tcsh or korn or something
else, but it seems to do what I expect it to.
