Well, I don't know if it is mod_perl specific, because mod_perl works with 
ActivePerl built 820 but not with 822.

If you say that there are no many differences between 820 and 822, I can use 
with no problem the built 820, but I am still curious to know why this 
happends, because on some machines mod_perl and ActivePerl 822 work.
