Hi there,

Thought some of you might be interested in our latest show, which
opens Thursday, with the online project extending throughout the
month. William Boling, a US based artist, is running a series of
auctions on TradeMe using source imagery from the site and it's
counterpart, eBay. See more info and links below.

Cheers,

WINDOW onsite presents "Best Wishes Jason Rhoades" by Martyn Reynolds
Opening Thursday 9 August 2007 at 6pm

Jason Rhoades is dead. For many of us, this has been a hard thing to
come to grips with, not least Martyn Reynolds. When the shadow cast by
one's idol is no longer bound by the body of its owner, how does one
continue to imagine their work? Indeed, is the work of an artist like
Jason Rhoades even possible without the force of his living presence
in the world? With R & R Sport, Switched On Gardener and Blue Fitness
as his support network, Martyn attempts to come to grips with the
untimely loss of one of the art world's leading lights. As a means of
addressing such a rupture in the circuit, Martyn creates an elusive
temporal logic; a vague but coherent system which emerges from within
the mechanics of
sponsored fitness equipment and a hydroponic grow-lamp.

WINDOW Online presents "You Ain't Wrong" by William Boling
Bid live on TradeMe or view page at http://www.window.auckland.ac.nz

There are currently 954,837 items for sale on TradeMe. With few
exceptions these transactions were supported by digital images created
by amateurs to promote the sell. This month at Window, Atlanta based
artist William Boling stages a multi part online project centering
around the ubiquitous auction website. Boling has found, paired, and
photographed a series of objects from both eBay and TradeMe that
harmonize with or repell each other - "20 Teat Feeding Bin" or a
"Dinky Toys No. 692 5.5 medium gun". He'll be auctioning these
diptychs over the next week, culminating in a winning bid on Opening
night. The user feedback, screens, and media from this process will be
compiled into 3 books, which Boling will sell at a second auction
later in the month.

The exhibition runs 9 August – 8 September 2007
