Hey Dell, In my experience with things like this, there is the issue of having video able to play back fast enough. The solution usually means that the different clips have to be cached so that they come up on demand. Max/MSP with Jitter might be something to look at. Its designed for custom applications and built around audio and midi interfaces. The Jitter addon is made to random access control of video at the frame level. http://www.cycling74.com/products/jitter
There is also Puredata which is an opensource version, and therefore a little cheaper. :) http://puredata.info/ hope this helps, Steve On Mar 27, 2008, at 5:34 PM, Dell McLeod wrote: > Hey there, > i'm currently working on a theatre project where I need to trigger > certain > short film clips at random times. > We want the films and the atmos sound in between the films to be > able to be > midi triggered with the keyboard, ie to play the 'chase' sequence, > hit key > 'a' and the chase sequence is cued to be played. > > I'm working with Final Cut Pro to edit these sequences, and the > audio guy is > working with Logic.
