Hi all, A general point raised by this discussion about Doug Kahn... I am now happily ensconced in Adelaide, at Flinders University, which has a large Screen & Media Dept, which production expertise and reasonably sized student cohorts in both screen production and digital media production -- see http://ehlt.flinders.edu.au/screen/ I teach a range of topics in digital media, including arts practice, so would be very happy to work in/in with NZ contacts who are passing through this way.
When I was at VUW, I sought to make the best regional use of an international colleague whose visit I secured (funds came from ISAT fund of RSNZ), and so I took him to Melbourne to 'share' him with ACMI on his way home to Germany. I would certainly be willing to do such things again, in the other direction and happy to work in with visitors to NZ who'd like to do an Adelaide gig. Adelaide can be viewed as a bit of a poor cousin to eastern Australian states, so there's even more reason to collaborate! Please contact me direct if you'd like to discuss any such opportunities. cheers, Melanie -- Dr Melanie Swalwell Coordinator of the Section of Media, Senior Lecturer, Screen and Media, & Course Coordinator, B.
