Last year, Anne Nigten, who used to be director of V2 (she now runs something
else)
told me that Cloudland was very impressive and it seemed to her that NZers
worked together more
than artists in Europe tended to.
Anyway, just passing a comment on that Cloudland impressed someone who is
involved in a lot of
media stuff here. I told her about the ADA reader but don't remember if she
said she was going to order it or not.
and having debated during the questions part with Lev Manovich last May when he
was in Amsterdam -I disagree pretty strongly with his latest project's
approach, which in my
view is an extention of his writing - defining media in terms of computing/
what can be computed.
I'll stop - i don't have time to explain myself here...
anyway I was going to say you aren't missing a lot, but of course, of course,
it is important that visitors to Australia tour over the ditch (only a few
hours by plane) so there's an exchange of ideas, etc.

Stella, you probably already tried, but what about contacting the person
concerned direct next time.
If a speaker is open and interested they will find a way.
Anyway, I really appreciate all the work ADA does and was glad to be able to
attend the SCANZ event last Feb.
