Hi,

Thomas Beagle at Tech Liberty has been following this closely:
http://techliberty.org.nz/issues/internet-filtering/

This is the closest to a unified protest point in NZ I am aware of, so you
may like to consider directing contributing your voices of opposition there.

Its a tricky issue: on one hand its great that evil things like child porn
are being blocked, but on the other hand there isn't enough gov't
accountability for what goes on the list. That imho is the real crux of the
issue, and reflects the problem with the oz situation. Who decides what is
blocked and why? According to what value system? AND...why aren't there any
women in the independent reference group (any volunteers?)?

Cheers,
Bronwyn
