Hi John.

I've had a look at the Pinnacle site DVC 80 page and it appears that the
device will input only to its RCA and S-Video ports. There is no indication
that it will output too. For the price it looks like a useful piece of gear
for those wishing to convert old video tape to CD/DVD for instance, but it
makes no reference to VHS. There are analogue to digital converters that
work both ways, like the Canopus ADVC100, but it lists for four times the
price of your Dazzle box. Mind you, that's still cheaper than a digital
video camera with the pass through feature, but I guess what any piece of
gear is worth depends on what value the buyer will get from it. I'm pretty
sure now that I've read the specs that you won't have success exporting to
tape with your unit.

Hi David,

Still trying to download back to my VCR. I could just
get another VCR machine and go VCR to VCR but I
figured I would learn a lot if I went VCR to cpu to
VCR and that turns out to be correct.

I just downloaded the apparently new Windows Media
Encoder - perhaps that can help.

Best regards,

John
