Brad - what is your budget? Just asking because B&H has a JVC miniDV /
S-VHS combo unit with DV input/output for $739.

Subject: [AP] Capturing question (Mini DV)

I can't afford a Mini DV deck, so I typically capture straght from
my Canon GL2. I really want to stop that, so can I buy a cheap Mini
DV camcorder to use for capturing, or will it affect the quality?

----Nope, any miniDV camcorder will do just fine but you want to make
sure that it has "pass thru" capability so that you can also do analog
to digital capture as well, but the good news is that 90 per cent of
them have this feature.
